Very much a current generation BMX brand, Eastern BMX has been pushing the boundaries of innovation and value for over 20 years. Here we write a quick summary of their range so that you can get the lowdown on their BMX bikes.
And it actually all starts with the Eastern Lowdown. One of the best kids BMX bikes out there because it’s designed to be low and stable; delivering maximum confidence for the little guys. Designed for beginner riders, it’s got basic but quality components. Available in sizes from 12”, 14”, 16”, 18” and 20”.
The Eastern Cobra is perhaps our most popular bike because it suits pre-teens who are wanting a new BMX. The 20” top tube suits riders from 138cm to 152cm. Hardware gets a little better here too; sealed bearings in the front and rear hub minimise maintenance and ensure a very smooth rolling BMX. HI-Tensile steel frame and parts stop stuff from breaking. We have this in two colours, black and mint.
For amateur riders who want a quality BMX then it’s got to be the Eastern Javelin BMX. Why? There are quite a few upgrades that Eastern has added; a 4130 Chromoly (the best Chromoly) downtube makes the bike lighter, an integrated headset keep the frame strong and the steering smooth, double wall rims will not buckle easily under hard impacts and a sealed bottom bracket keeps maintenance low and the cranks spinning smoothly. A 20.5” top tube makes the Eastern Javelin suitable for older riders who are 146cm to 175cm.
The best amateur Eastern BMX is the Talisman. Riders get two upgrades over the Eastern Javelin; more 4130 and tyres. A 4130 Chromoly top tube is added for an even lighter build to make it easier to throw the Talisman around. The Squealer tyre has a fast rolling compound that is at home on the streets and skate parks, and the side is designed for extra corner grip and less resistance when grinding edges. 5 sealed bearings in the rear hub also support the axle for big landings and extra durability.
Intermediate riders should check out the Eastern Nagas. Why? It’s lighter and longer to suit taller riders. Extra Chromoly in the chainstays help reduce weight; allow riders to hop over stuff easier. The longer top tube suits riders 175cm to 183cm. Available in two colours; blue and orange.
