The Giant Cross City models are among our biggest selling bikes, being a really versatile style of bike, suited to so many different riders for so many different reasons.
Many commuter cyclists have seen the sense in the Cross City style as an alternative to a traditional hybrid or a slick tyred mountain bike. Still with the upright seating position favoured by most urban riders, but on a bike that is substantially lighter and faster, without any reduction in strength and durability.
A lot of weight is saved thanks to the lightweight alloy frame and the high level of components such as wheels and cranks, however, it is the carbon fibre forks where the biggest chunk of weight is eliminated. In addition to saving weight, the composite forks also increase rider comfort by reducing road vibration that is transmitted up to the rider.
The versatility of the Cross City 1 is supported by a wide range 27 speed gear system, providing options for speed on the flat and easy pedalling even when fully loaded uphill. Hydraulic disc brakes add to the overall quality of the bike, ensuring safe stopping in all weather conditions.
With eyelets provided in the frame, the fitting of a pannier rack or child seat is a simple task and results in a stable, sturdy rack fitment.
Loaded up with pannier bags for the commute to school or work, or stripped down for some fun on the weekend, the Cross City 1, is bound to get you from A to B and back again with a minimum of fuss.
