Giant FastRoad SLR 2 2017

The lighter, sportier, FastRoad style of flat bar road bikes have been so popular over the past couple of years that Giant have actually doubled the number of models available for the 2017 season.

This FastRoad SLR 2 is the first in this range of 4 bikes and is a brand new model with a lightweight SLR aluminium frame as its base. Combined with a carbon composite front fork, the FastRoad is a lightweight flat bar road bike, ideally suited to many commuters and sports riders.

Light enough to be compareable to many mid range road bikes and yet with the comfort and control afforded by the more upright riding position and the wider handlebars, the FastRoad cleverly blends rider comfort with performance. Fitted with pannnier rack mounts, the FastRoad can easily be used as a workhorse to carry books to and from Uni, clothes and documents to and from work, or the essentials for a weekend away cycle touring.

Another great feature for commuters, or anyone who rides all year round, even when the roads are wet and dirty, is the addition of hydraulic disc brakes. These greatly increase wheel life, improve braking power and provide consistent braking with a minimum of hand pressure on the brake lever.      

Available in 6 sizes, the FastRoad will be just what the doctor ordered for many riders, fed up with the fragilityof a racer or the heavy,slow ride of a hybrid or MTB.
