Giant GFR C/B BMX Bike 2018

It's often surprising how heavy some kids bikes are! It almost seems unfair that those smaller kids who would benefit most from a bike that is easier to pedal, are stuck with a heavy clunker.

Some manufacturers have begun addressing this, such as Giant who have a number of lightweight bikes to choose from.

BMX bikes, due to the nature of their intended use, bouncing around skate parks and doing jumps and other stunt-riding, are built strong and heavy to withstand the impacts encountered.

In reality, though, most BMX bikes don't see all of this heavy duty action. Most are just ridden for fun, as a means of transport and for the experience of freedom, riding brings to all riders.

These riders have no need for a heavy bike and their riding becomes so much easier and more fun when using a bike such as the Giant GFR which has a lightweight aluminium frame and rims.

Sure, this means a teenager shouldn't take it to the skate park and try to do backflips, but it is ideal for kids aged between 5 and 10 who simply need a good quality, lightweight bike for leisure riding. No backflips!

With a coaster foot brake at the rear wheel and a hand brake for the front, a low standover height, adjustable seat and handlebars and a protective chain guard, the Giant GFR is ideally suited for the growing child.
