CASTELLI ARM WARMERS

Italian brand Castelli has been making premium cycling garments for decades. The red scorpion logo is well known and instantly screams quality.
Castelli’s arm warmer range starts off with the Pro Seamless 2 arm warmer. Temperature range is between 10°- 20° Celsius. It’s made from a unique polyester, nylon and lycra blend, and is the lightest weight arm warmer in the range. It has 3/5 windproofness but where it lacks is waterproofness (1/5). It’s your friend on cold and dry rides but not cold and wet.
Next, Castelli offers the Thermoflex 2 arm warmer. These are the best all-round option because they do have better waterproofness at 2/5 and thicker insulation (4/5) compared to the Pro Seamless 2.
Lastly, the Nano Flex 3G arm warmers are the top of the bunch. These have the best insulation (3/5 ), waterproofness (3/5 ) and windproofness (3/5 ). Plus, the fabric is lined with nano filaments to increase water repellency. So much so that water droplets stay spherical balls on the surface of these arm warmers.

PEARL IZUMI ARM WARMERS

The range is simple. The Pearl Izumi Elite PI Dry Thermal arm warmer uses tech called PI Dry. Similar to Castelli’s NanoFlex fabric, it’s designed to repel water and dirt.

Then there’s the Thermal Lite arm warmer which is a lighter weight fabric, similar to the Pro Seamless 2 arm warmer above.

GIANT ARM WARMERS

These use a combination of GIant’s ThermTextura and ProTextura fabrics to keep you warm and relatively dry.

TherTextura keeps you warm and insulated. ProTextura is there to keep the wind chill off with a fabric that’s 100% windproof.
