HARO FLIGHTLINE TWO 27.5

If you’re looking for last year’s Giant ATX, forget it. They got sold out months ago. And with the new 2021 Giant ATX just released, we found out that Giant has cut the range down from 12 bikes to 2.

Further, there’s no disc brakes on the 2021 model either.

It’s still an excellent recreational mountain bike, but for those consumers looking to attain better value then the new Haro Flightline Two is a must.

Here’s why:

WHAT IS THE FLIGHTLINE TWO?

The Flightline Two is Haro’s recreational mountain bike.

It’s designed for riders who are looking to ride rail trails and bike paths with the family or simply for general fitness.

It’s available in 2 wheel sizes; 27.5-inch for smaller riders and 29-inch for taller riders.

THE FLIGHTLINE FRAME

Is made from aluminium. Haro tends to place a lot of investment into their frames, delivering a well-engineered, light and durable frame.

A nice touch is the use of internal cable routing. On bikes at this price point it’s rare to see. All the cables are fed inside the Flightline’s frame rather than zip-tied to the outside. Not only does this make the bike look cleaner and neater, it will also reduce maintenance on gear and brake cables.

THE WHO AND THE RIDE

The Haro Flightline Two 27.5 is going to be the go to mountain bike for younger riders who are upgrading from their much smaller bike.

The 27.5-inch wheels ensure a lower standover height for easy mounting and dismounting.

Also:

It’s easy for young riders to handle and maneuver around. The wide tyres deliver superb grip and comfort, and their low-tread profile ensures the Flightline Two rolls easily without too much effort.

Perfect for younger riders still learning to ride.

And:

It comes in smaller frame sizes, so pre-teens can easily fit on it. It’s not uncommon for us to size 10-year old riders onto an XS or small frame for example.

THE COMPONENTS

There are a total of 21-gears. But before you freak out or assume your child’s brain will turn to mush at the mere thought of 21 different gears - just hear me out. They are easy to operate. Not all 21-gears have to be used. And often we can lock the front gears, converting it to a 7 speed mountain bike.

2 paddle-style levers control the gears. One makes it harder to pedal and the other easier. As long as the rider’s pedalling forwards and shifting gears you can’t stuff up.

Mechanical disc brakes do work better than V or Rim brakes. They work better in dry and wet conditions and deliver slightly more stopping power.

The front suspension helps smooth the ride out if you’re riding on gravel and dirt, or bumpy roads.
