HARO FLIGHTLINE JR 24 - BAD APPLE
Haro latest Flight 24 (24-inch) kids mountain bike is one of the more popular bikes in our massive range. That’s because it ticks a lot of boxes, all of which we’ll go through in this preview of the bike.
WHAT IS THE FLIGHTLINE 24?
The Flightline is a 24-inch (wheel size) kids mountain bike. It’s designed for riding on suburban bike paths, rail trails, light dirt and gravel trails.
WHO IS THE FLIGHTLINE 24 FOR?
It’s for riders who are 7 years and older.
Rider’s don’t need to be particularly tall either because Haro has designed the Flightline 24 with a super low frame, making it much easier for young riders to get on and off the Flightline.
And it lowers the overall centre of gravity too; delivering a little more control and stability - especially cornering.
Front suspension helps smooth out the bumps on rough roads and adds stability on dirt and gravel surfaces.
THE FRAME AND PARTS
One area that separates the Haro Flightline is how light the frame is. “Lightweight” tends to be very overused when describing frames - even for frames that aren’t that light.
So, it’s refreshing to see Haro has gone to the effort of removing excess and making the overall weight of the Flightline 24 low to make it more manageable for young riders.
Promax alloy v-brakes are used to slow the Flightline 24 down. The brakes are paired to great quality brake levers that can be adjusted for smaller hands.

Next, we cover the gears.
Haro has kept things simple in this area.
A single front gear is paired to 7 back gears. 1 front gear means much less moving parts are actually needed; for example, there’s no front derailleur, front shifter or cable.
Haro has used components from microSHIFT because they are robust and reliable.
There are 7 back gears.
And the gears are controlled by the best grip shifter we’ve ever seen.
The little guy changes orientation to show young riders which gear is used for going up, down and for riding on flat surfaces.
So, we’ve got gear number 3 (4 and 5) for riding on flat surfaces.
Gear number 1 (and 2) for going up inclines.
And gear number 6 (and 7) for going down.
Overall, it’s a clean and simple setup and easier for kids to get accustomed to (especially if they’ve never used gears before!).
