PRODUCT DETAILS
JAMIS XR20 - LIMELIGHT
Similar to the Giant XTC Jr. 20, the XR20 has been designed for kids from 6 years and older. It’s a very cool and practical street bike, equipped with all-terrain tyres to handle gravel and dirt trails.
An oversized top tube and downtube delivers strength and durability. And because it’s made from 6000-series aluminium, it’s lightweight too.
Shimano delivers the drivetrain with a total of 6 gears on the back and a single gear on the front. An easy to use grip shifter makes changing gears really intuitive.
The XR20 is also equipped with front and rear hand brakes (called V-brakes) - and no foot brake. Even though most kids are generally coming off smaller bikes with foot brakes, generally they don’t have an issue transitioning from using foot to hand brakes.
All terrain tyres have a larger air volume for delivering a smoother riding experience. Kids can ride the XR20 comfortably on dirt, gravel and rough roads. On loose surfaces, the XR20 remains balanced and stable.
Speaking of stable, did you notice the angle of the front fork in the picture above?
It angles out, which pushes the front wheel out too. This steering angle creates understeer or, in other words, stability. When kids corner the XR20 it doesn’t have a nervous or twitchy steering character, it’s slow and predictable - perfect for kids who are transitioning from a small to larger bike where ‘wobbles’ can be initially common.
