Bike chain quick links, also known as master links, are detachable chain links that allow for easy connection and removal of a bike chain without needing a chain tool or pin extractor.

They are designed to make chain maintenance, cleaning or replacement simpler and faster.

Quick links come in different sizes to match specific chain widths, such as 8, 9, 10, 11, or 12-speed chains.

Ideally, you'd remove a quick link with chain-link pliers. Connecting the two ends of the chain, doesn't require a tool.

Note that some chain links are re-useable and others are not.
