Giant E-Bikes

The basics.

Giant's e-bike range is enormous. That's a good and bad thing.

You'll definitely find the right electric bike. There might just be a little head scratchin' before you get there.

Here's a basic overview. For more details scroll to the bottom or click the button below.

All of Giant's e-bikes use motors designed by Yamaha. Depending on the type of the bike you need, the motor torque will vary from 50Nm to 85Nm.

Giant's e-bikes consist of hybrids which are a cross-over (think SUV) bike. They are capable of riding pavements and they can be ridden on smooth dirt and gravel surfaces as well.

For riders who want to attempt easy off-road trails, Giant also has a front-suspension only mountain bike called the Talon E+. This has wider tyres than the hybrid above and more suspension for larger impacts.

And if you're super adventurous, there's a range of dual-suspension E-MTBs (Electric Mountain Bikes).

The range.

  • Giant Roam E+

Giant Roam E+.

The Giant Roam E+ is one of our best selling Giant e-bikes.

It's a jack-of-all-trades and super versatile. It can handle almost everything; commuting, touring, riding with the family or simply for fitness.

And it can adapt to a range of road conditions; smooth dirt like the Warburton Rail Trail to inner city pavement.

The Roam E+ will suit new or experienced riders. It has a sporty but comfortable riding position. Handling is stable and not nervous. The suspension handles rough pavement with ease.

The Roam E+ uses Giant's SyncDrive Core motor (50Nm torque) and a 400Wh battery that delivers exceptional range.

Giant Expression E+.

The Expression E+ is designed for inner city streets and suburban paths.

The low step-through frame makes it so much more comfortable to step on/off the bike; especially if you're constantly stopping at traffic lights.

The short reach and high handlebars ensures riders have a very relaxed and upright riding position.

The Expression E+ uses Giant's SynDrive Core motor with 55Nm of torque and a 500Wh battery.

Giant Explore E+.

Giant made the Explore E+ as a premium crossover or hybrid bike.

It has a brand new frame. It uses Giant's higher-end battery (the EnergyPak Smart) with a  larger 625Wh capacity.

Performance Shimano Deore 10-speed parts are used throughout. Further Giant has used Shimano's LinkGlide tech which is especially designed for e-bikes to enhance durability significantly more than standard components.

The Explore E+ comes standard with integrated lights, mudguards, rear rack and kickstand.

The motor is Giant SyncDrive Sport 2 with 75Nm of torque.

Giant Anytour X E+.

Quite possibly the most capable crossover e-bike that Giant has made.

The newly released AnyTour X E+ is designed for pavement and rail trails. But its capabilities extend to alpine trails and gravel paths too. The heavy duty suspension, suspension/dropper seat post and performance gears allow it to tackle rugged trails.

Like the Explore E+ above, the AnyTour X E+ uses Giant's latest SyncDrive Sport 2 motor with bumped up torque to 75Nm and a 500Wh battery.

Giant Talon E+.

The Talon E+ is a recreational electric mountain bike designed for easy, smooth off-road trails, pavement and compacted dirt and gravel paths.

There are 2 models of the Talon E+ to choose from:

  • Talon E+ 1
  • Talon E+ 3

The Talon E+ 1 has a bigger battery (500Wh), better brakes, gears and suspension.

Giant Stance E+.

Consider the Stance E+ if you're searching for a relatively affordable dual-suspension E-MTB.

And you want to attempt (up to) intermediate level mountain trails.

The Stance E+ is designed with 125mm of rear wheel suspension travel paired to a 140mm travel front fork.

With these numbers, it will suit riders who prefer their wheels on-the-ground and riding easier trails or riding the B-Line, rather than attempting the hardest A-Line.

Giant designed the Stance with a 625Wh battery. It's driven by Giant's SyncDrive Sport 2 motor with 75Nm of torque.

Giant Trance X E+.

The Trance X E+ is Giant's Trail E-MTB.

It's designed for riders who prefer a versatile, nimble and responsive E-MTB.

Ideally for riders who aren't looking to Send-It on massive jumps and drop-offs. You'll attempt the smaller version of these but you're after more of an adventure bike.

Giant designed the Trance X E+ with a 140mm of rear wheel travel paired to a 150mm travel fork.

It's driven by the Giant SyncDrive Pro 2 motor with 85Nm of torque. It's paired to a massive 800Wh battery with the latest 22700 battery cell technology.

There are 4 models in the range; 2 carbon and 2 aluminium alloy.

Anytime you see Advanced in the model name, it's carbon.

  • Trance X Advanced E+ 1
  • Trance X Advanced E+ 2
  • Trance X E+ 1
  • Trance X E+ 3

Giant Reign E+.

The Reign E+ is Giant's Enduro E-MTB.

This is the option for more aggressive and experienced riders. If you're used to riding a mid-travel bike like the Trance, the Reign E+ is a natural upgrade.

Giant designed the Reign E+ to deliver 160mm of rear wheel travel and paired it to a 170mm travel fork. It's a time-proven (and podium proven) mix that works on modern Enduro bikes really well.

The extra suspension delivers calm and stability through technical rock gardens and tree root sections. There's also more room for error; the Reign E+ allows you to make mistakes.

Enduro bikes can be handful at low speeds. For this reason, Giant used a mixed-wheel setup; 29-inch wheel front paired to a 27.5-inch rear wheel.

The small wheel makes the handling more responsive and carves through tight berms and corners easily.

Riders have 3 Reign E+ options:

  • Reign E+ 1
  • Reign E+ 2
  • Reign E+ 3

Like the Trance X E+, the Reign E+ also uses the SynDrive Pro 2 and a 800Wh battery.

Giant Trance X Advanced E+ Elite.

Giant designed the new Trance X Advanced E+ Elite as a much lighter version of the Trance X E+.

It's part of a new breed of E-MTB- lightweight and full-powered.

In previous years, you could choose between full-powered (but heavy) or lightweight (but under-powered).

The Trance Elite's torque can be varied (via the app) between 20Nm and 85Nm. The frame uses a lightweight 400Wh battery.

All frames are made from carbon fibre. Giant has even made the SyncDrive Pro's motor casing from magnesium to save weight.

There are 3 model options:

  • Trance X Advanced E+ Elite 0
  • Trance X Advanced E+ Elite 1
  • Trance X Advanced E+ Elite 2
  • Trance X Advanced E+ Elite 3
