GT Stomper Pro 26
The GT Stomper Pro is a 26-inch recreational mountain bike designed for riders 9 years or older.
Its lightweight and versatile design is perfect for riding with family and mates around suburbia while still being capable, calm and stable on dirt/gravel surfaces.
In this preview, we'll explain the Stomper Pro 26 in a little more detail.
What is the Stomper Pro 26?
GT designed the Stomper Pro to be a kids mountain bike.
It's the next size up from a 24-inch bike.
It rolls on 26-inch diameter wheels but the frame is compact. It's perfect for kids who are too tall for a 24-inch bike and too small for an adult bike.
It's designed:
- For calm and stable handling; delivering confidence to young riders.
- To be versatile. It's fast and easy to roll on pavement and grippy on loose dirt and gravel surfaces. It's designed:
The key details.
Front suspension not only absorbs impacts, it also helps stabilise the front.
Young riders naturally over-correct when they're steering. The Stomper Pro's calm front end negates this and allows kids to corner and steer with confidence.
Disc brakes are an improvement over rim brakes.
They work better in wet and dry conditions; deliver more power and allow riders to control their speed safely.
GT made sure the gears on the Stomper Pro were easy to use and simple to maintain.
Notice that there's only 1 front gear.
This means there's no front derailleur, front gear shifter and cable. The maintenance is simpler because there's less moving parts.
The single front gear is paired to 7 rear gears.
And the gears are controlled via a twist shifter. Kids have their full hand wrapped around the grip, maintaining steering control.
It's also worth mentioning that GT has used kid-specific brake levers.
The shorter reach is perfect for small hands. It stops riders having to over-stretch everytime they need to control their speed.
It's not only better ergonomics, it's a must for safety.
