SHIMANO's HG400-9 delivers reliable 9-SPEED mountain bike shifting performance and a durable, silver finish.
The 'HG' stands for Hyper Glide.
Compared to conventional sprockets, the teeth on HG sprockets guide the CHAIN quickly and directly to the next sprocket without override (where the CHAIN rides up over the sprocket teeth) resulting in far less clunky gear shifts.
