The Giant Contact D-Fuse SL XR Handlebar was designed for two things, aeordynamics and superior compliance on gravel. The shape was inspired by Giant's D-Fuse seatposts which are proven to be more compliant than a round post as well as more aerodynamic in wind-tunnel and real world applications.
