GT Aggressor Pro
The GT Aggressor Pro is designed for recreational riders who want an easy to ride mountain bike for bike paths around suburbia and rail trails.
It's a great bike for those who are riding casually with family or mates for general fitness.
In this preview, we'll go through the Aggressor Pro in a little more detail.
What is the Aggressor Pro?
The Aggressor Pro is a mid-range recreational mountain bike designed for rail trails, bike paths and suburbia.
It's not designed for super rugged, technical mountain bike tracks.
Think of it as an easier to ride mountain bike for tame paths and trails, yet a bike that can still handle smooth off-road trails.
Who should consider the Aggressor Pro?
These are some of the reasons:
- If you prefer wider tyres and a bike that's adaptable to most types of terrain.
- Speed and efficiency are not high priority; you prefer comfort and stability instead.
- Pre-teens and teenagers upgrading from a small kids bike.
Aggressor Pro build.
Starting at the front, we have suspension.
The Suntour XCE suspension is smooth and robust. It easily absorbs impacts from rough pavement and trails.
Not only does it make the ride more comfortable, it also makes the front handling stable and calm.
For pre-teens and teenagers upgrading to a larger bike, this is an important design factor to consider.
Next, mechanical disc brakes work better than rim brakes do. They are also more robust. Disc brakes aren't as affected in wet conditions either.
The Aggressor Pro uses 3 front gears paired to 8 back gears.
It's an excellent mid-range setup that's going to be super reliable and robust for recreational riders.
There are 3 front chainrings; designed to adjust to extreme changes in gradient. Most riders should put it in gear number 2 though.
Gear 1 is used for climbing very steep hills. And Gear 3 is used for riding down very steep hills.
There are 8 back gears.
These gears you will be using much more often. They're a finer adjustment and way more usable compared to the front gears.
Gears are changed using trigger shifters.
In the image below, there are 2 levers on this right hand shifter.
This shifter controls the back gears.
The small lever changes into an easier gear. The larger size paddle changes into a harder gear.
Lastly, GT has used fast rolling all-terrain tyres.
There's enough grip for loose over hard surfaces (think loose sand over compacted dirt), yet the tread won't cause lots of drag when rolling on smooth surfaces.
