HARO BRIDGEPORT - MATTE BLACK
The Haro Bridgeport is what we call a Sports Hybrid. It’s designed for rail trails and bike paths, for those who are interested in a versatile general fitness hybrid bike.
If this sounds like you, and you’re looking for a mid-level hybrid bike then the new Bridgeport should be on your shortlist.
Here’s why:

THE FRAME
Haro has kept the Bridgeport’s tube profiles slim and sleek to further minimise weight. There’s no unnecessarily complex curves. The Bridgeport’s tube profiles are refreshingly simple and clean.

Like most modern hybrid bikes, cable routing runs inside the frame to create a much cleaner appearance. This means less maintenance and wear on cables because they’re not exposed to outside elements - like grit, mud and water.
The Brideport also accommodates mudguards and pannier racks. No fancy adapters are required, these accessories simply bolt onto the frame.

THE COMPONENTS
The Haro Bridgeport uses Shimano’s mid-range Altus components.
For recreational riders, Altus is inexpensive to replace and shifting performance is perfect for gentle gradients and flat surfaces.

Moreover, to keep the drivetrain modern, Haro has chosen to pair the rear 8 gears with 2 front, to deliver a 16-speed drivetrain.

2 front gears (instead of the typical 3), simplifies the drivetrain and also makes it more efficient. The larger front chainring is used for flat terrain/gentle uphills and steep downhills. The smaller of the two is for climbing steep inclines.

Moving onto the brakes, the Bridgeport is equipped with mechanical disc brakes. These are significantly better than calipers or V-Brakes.

Because they deliver better stopping power in wet and dry conditions. Brake pads also last longer than the rubber pads you get on V-Brakes.

The Suntour NEX suspension fork smooths out small bumps and adds a little more height to the handlebars, encouraging you to sit up into a more relaxed riding position.

The little blue lever on top of the suspension allows you to lock it out for when you’re riding on smooth surfaces. This makes the Bridgeport more efficient to pedal, because the suspension doesn’t absorb the effort you’re putting into the bike.
Like most of our sports hybrid range, the tyre option is sensible because the tread caters for a wide variety of surface conditions; from smooth dirt rail trails through to your typical suburban concrete bike paths.
