Giant Stance

What is the Giant Stance?

Giant's Stance is their entry-level dual-suspension Trail bike.

It's a great product fit for new riders upgrading from a recreational hardtail (front suspension only) mountain bike.

As a Trail bike it's designed to deliver new riders with lots of confidence to navigate semi-technical trails at speed.

The frame is designed to deliver 120mm of rear wheel travel and is paired to a 130mm front suspension fork.

Who is the Giant Stance for?

Giant developed the Stance for new riders specifically.

You should consider the Stance if:

  • You're pushing your current hardtail mountain to the limit on mountain bike trails.
  • This is your first dual-suspension or mountain bike.
  • You want a bike that is going to give you confidence riding semi-technical trails.
  • You want a bike that is easy to handle at speed.

That said, there are 2 different Giant Stances.

The Giant Stance 27.5

The Stance 27.5 has 27.5-inch wheels.

It's designed for riders who:

  • Prefer a nimble and super agile trail bike.
  • Love to do jumps and prefer a bike that's easy to pop and move around on the trail.

Like the Stance 29 that we'll cover next, the Stance 27.5 has 120mm of rear wheel travel paired to a 130mm fork.

Stance 29

This version of the Stance is designed with 29-inch wheels.

And it will suit riders who:

  • Are more wheels-on-the-ground riders. You prefer to roll over stuff rather than jump it.
  • Prefer calm handling over rough terrain.
  • Want a glued-to-the-ground feel at high speed.

We got something that's a little better though.

As riders ourselves, we appreciate a modern trail bike from a premium brand - at an affordable price.

Rocky Mountain is a mountain bike specialist from Canada.

And they've got a bike called the Instinct.

For a lot of riders it is literally the only bike you'll need.

At 140mm of rear wheel travel, paired to a 150mm travel fork, it is super stable over rough terrain and high speed.

The Instinct also allows way more room for rider error.

Plus you're not locked into a certain type of handling.

The Instinct has 9 different setup positions that deliver varying levels of feel/handling. From super sharp and responsive to calm and stable.

It's kinda like having multiple bikes in one bike.

Checkout the Instinct below. The range starts off at the Instinct Alloy 10.
