MTB Gloves

MTB gloves provide enhanced grip and extra protection for rough, off-road trails.

Most MTB gloves are full-fingered for maximum protection. However if you are searching for short-fingered MTB gloves, then consider the Fox Ranger Gel SF gloves.

Briefly, the MTB glove you choose depends on how much bar feel you prefer.

On a super special are the Giro Rivet CS MTB gloves.

These are our lightest-weight gloves that deliver maximum bar feel and trail feedback. Also good for the warmer months of the year.

A popular neutral feeling glove is Fox's Ranger MTB glove but…there's a lot of options.

There's the classic Fox Ranger.

Plus, the Fox Ranger Gel has gel palm padding to minimise pressure across the median and ulnar nerves. It also comes in a women's version too.

Heavier weight MTB gloves with knuckle armour include the Fox Legion and Fox Dirtpaw, with the Dirtpaw being a little bit lighter.

Recreational and Road Cycling Gloves

Cycling gloves designed for road and recreational riders tend to be short fingered.

Short fingered gloves are better for ventilation. They also provide a more secure grip over brake levers and gear shifters.

Some of our best value cycling gloves are the Giant Rival and Giro Jag. Both are designed for everyday fitness and road use. And both have extra palm padding to minimise nerve compression.

Mid-range options include the Pearl Izumi Quest Gel mens cycling gloves. The Quest uses gel foam padding instead of EVA (rubber). A super breathable exterior absorbs and evaporates sweat leaving your skin dry.

Winter Cycling Gloves

Winter cycling gloves can be a little confusing. To make it simpler, think about what temperature range you'll be riding in, how tolerant you are to the cold and how much handlebar "feel" you prefer.

A light-weight winter cycling glove is the Pearl Izumi Thermal Lite. These have a good tactile bar feel and are ideal for temperatures in the low to mid-teens.

If you mostly ride in dry cold conditions (and the wind chill affects you) consider the Giant Chill or the slightly warmer Chill X gloves.

Another windproof glove is Giant's Diversion. It has a longer cuff than the Chill and can be tucked into jersey or jacket sleeves for extra protection.
