Mongoose Rockadile 20 Girls
Mongoose's Rockadile 20 Girls bike is designed as an all-round, versatile kids bike.
This preview will explain who should consider buying the Rockadile 20, what it's designed for and a bit more about what components it has.

Who should consider buying the Rockadile 20 Girls?
First, the age.
It's called the Rockadile 20 because it's a 20-inch bike. This means the diameter of the wheels are 20-inches.
20-inch bikes are designed for riders who are at least 6 years (or very tall 5 year olds).
Next, the experience or co-ordination level.
Mongoose designed the Rockadile 20 Girls to have 7 gears. And no foot brake. Braking, or controlling speed, is done only by the hands.
So, if your child still relies heavily on foot-brakes then you'd be better considering bikes like the ByK E450, LIv Adore 20 or Mongoose Ladygoose.
But.
If your child is confident with handling their current bike, then they won't have an issue with the Rockadile 20.
In our experience, kids learn and adapt really fast to gears and brakes.

What is the Rockadile 20 Girls used for?
Mongoose designed the Rockadile 20 to be an all-rounder kids mountain bike.
Meaning it's comfortable on pavement, rougher suburban bike paths, rail trails, smooth dirt and gravel paths.
The Rockadile's front suspension smooths out any bumps and impacts.
Suspension also adds stability to the front steering; making the Rockadile 20 calmer and easier to control.

Some key components.
The Rockadile 20 Girls uses a Shimano 7 speed gearing system. It's a twist-grip setup.
Riders don't need to take their fingers off the handlebar to change gears. Full hand coverage over the handlebar and shifter means better bike control; especially as kids don't have big hands.

7 gears allows riders to easily climb steeper inclines and efficiently cover distance on longer bike rides.
The small black sprocket is gear 7. It's the hardest gear to push but will deliver the highest top speed. Use this for going downhill.
And the largest silver sprocket is the easiest gear (gear 1); best used to going up steep inclines.
For flat terrain, gear 4 is ideal (pictured).

The Rockadile 20 doesn't have any foot brakes. Riders now have to use their hands to slow down.

The left hand lever controls the rear brake. Right lever controls the front brake.
