The Amflow TL Carbon is the rare e-bike that refuses to pick a single lane.

Amflow calls it an electric SUV, and the description fits:

It is a full-carbon, full-suspension machine that climbs singletrack, glides through a weekday commute, and hauls a loaded touring setup without breaking stride.

Underneath sits the newly updated Avinox M2 drive system and a removable 800Wh battery, wrapped in a frame that helps bring the complete bike weight down to as little as 22.6kg. For a carbon e-bike carrying this much capability, it lands at a price that most premium brands cannot match.

It's versatile

Most e-bikes force a choice.

A trail eMTB is hopeless with panniers. A cargo bike is dead weight on a climb.

The TL Carbon is engineered to do both.

The heart of it is a 2.9kg full-carbon frame that keeps the bike agile and stiff where it matters, paired with FOX suspension tuned specifically for this platform.

Fit the standard racks and mudguards and it is a serious touring and commuting rig.

Strip them off and drop in grippier rubber and you have a genuinely capable cross-country trail bike. Front and rear wheels can be switched between 27.5-inch and 29-inch to match the terrain you ride most.

Avinox M2 Motor

The TL Carbon runs the Avinox M2 mid-drive unit, the same drive-system family that put Amflow on the map.

It delivers 110N·m of nominal torque and up to 125N·m at peak, from a compact unit weighing just 2.6kg.

That torque is what makes steep, loaded climbs feel manageable rather than desperate.

Five assist modes let you dial the support from feather-light to full power. An integrated Traction Control System reads real-time sensor data to modulate power and keep the rear wheel hooked up on loose or wet ground.

Power delivery is near-instant off the pedal stroke and stays quiet under load, so the assistance feels like a stronger version of your own legs rather than a motor doing the work for you.

Battery and Range

Range is where the TL Carbon separates itself from lighter, smaller-battery rivals. The standard removable 800Wh battery (the Avinox RS800) is rated for a claimed range of up to around 170km in Eco mode, and it swaps out with one hand for riders who want to carry a spare on longer days.

A 600Wh option is available for those prioritising weight, good for up to around 124km.

For big-distance touring, an optional 480Wh secondary battery brings total capacity to 1280Wh. An optional charging hub can top up as many as four batteries in sequence without constant swapping.

Real-world range always depends on terrain, rider weight, wind and mode, but the headroom here is exceptional for the category.

FOX Suspension

Suspension is handled by FOX, co-developed and tuned for the TL platform.

Up front is a FOX AWL Sport fork with 120mm of travel, a RAIL 2.0 damper and low-speed rebound adjustment.

Out back, a FOX FLOAT Rhythm shock delivers 105mm of rear travel through a four-bar suspension linkage.

The result absorbs kerbs and cobbles on the commute, keeps a loaded bike composed on rough touring roads, and stays supple over roots and rocks on the trail while holding up on bigger hits.

Comfort-tuned geometry and strong anti-squat mean the suspension works with the motor on climbs instead of fighting it.

Touring and Cargo Ready

The TL Carbon supports a total system weight of around 200kg, covering the bike, a rider of up to roughly 125kg, and rack loads of up to 20kg on the front and 27kg on the rear.

It ships standard with front and rear mudguards and an MIK HD-compatible rear rack, so adding panniers, bags or an optional front rack is quick and secure.

Swap in a trailer thru-axle and you can tow a bike trailer, which makes it a legitimate option for family rides or bringing a pet along.

This is the practical backbone that lets one bike genuinely cover commuting, weekend cruising and long-distance loaded touring.

Smart Features and Connectivity

The TL Carbon is as connected as it is capable.

A 2-inch Avinox OLED control display pairs with two wireless handlebar controllers for clean, glove-friendly operation.

The Avinox Ride app imports third-party routes in GPX, FIT and TCX formats and pushes them to the display for real-time turn guidance and off-course alerts, with saved routes available offline.

Apple Find My integration lets you locate the bike and check battery status.

There is also a smart heart-rate mode:

Pair a Bluetooth heart-rate monitor and set a target zone in the app, and if your heart rate drops too low the system eases off the assistance so you work a little harder, while if it climbs too high it adds support to bring you back down.

GPS, Bluetooth, OTA updates, remote locating and Bike Protection round out the package.

Components and Build

The build is chosen for reliability under torque.

Shifting runs through Avinox SmoothShift electronic shifting. The gearing systems uses a TRP E.A.S.I. electronic rear derailleur, an 11-43T cassette and a 38T direct-mount chainring.

The system reduces torque during shifts to protect the chain and smooth every gear change without needing to ease off the pedals.

Braking comes from Tektro four-piston hydraulic disc brakes on 180mm rotors, customised for Amflow with an integrated tonewheel for the Avinox system.

Rolling stock is Amflow's own HTA-25 wheels wrapped in Maxxis 27.5 x 2.35 Crossmark II tyres.

An adjustable-travel Amflow dropper post (150mm on S/M, 170mm on L/XL) keeps the saddle out of the way when the trail points down. Or even just dropping the seat down to get on and off the bike.

Geometry and Sizing

The TL Carbon comes in 2 sizes (S/M and L/XL) with trail-friendly, comfort-oriented numbers.

A 66.9-degree head tube angle balances stable descending with easy low-speed handling, while a 70-degree effective seat tube angle keeps you centred for efficient climbing.

Reach runs from 375.3mm on the smaller frames to 412.7mm on the larger, chainstays sit at 470mm across the range, and wheelbase steps from 1144mm up to 1192mm.

It is a geometry set built for confident all-day riding rather than aggressive race positioning.
