SLW2 CLOSURE SYSTEM
Northwave’s SLW2 closure system is the only one that offers step by step and full opening release with just 1 single trigger. The XFrame construction set new standards for the fit of road race shoes and eliminating their pressure points. Our most demanding riders challenged us to take it to the next level: make the fit even more customizable. Northwave’s response? They added the double SLW2 dial that lets you tighten the fit around the instep and forefoot to different degrees for custom-fit adjustability and even finer adaptability. XFrame 2 retains all the same cool features that put the first-generation XFrame in a class of its own, like plastic inserts replaced with soft tapes, and the soft, flexible Dyneema cable that naturally conforms to the shape of each foot.
ULTRALIGHT CARBON SOLE
Unidirectional carbon sole that’s great for maximum power transmission, with minimum thickness and unmatched lightness (just 60gr for the sole). Thanks to the specific adaptor, it is compatible with Speedplay pedals. The AirFlow ensures a great circulation of air in and out. Ultralight Carbon is the choice of our top athletes.
SPEEDPLAY ADAPTER
The shortest distance between foot and pedal on the market. It’s Northwave developed and patented, in collaboration with Speedplay; an exclusive adaptor that provides maximum power transmission, thanks to the reduced thickness of just 0.5 mm (Compared to 3mm of traditional Speedplay adaptors). It’s made of nylon with a thin aluminium plate, and it respects the natural anatomy of the sole keeping a minimal distance between the foot and the pedal in any position, without adding weight or bulk.
INTEGRATED HEEL SYSTEM
The new unibody construction of the uppers makes possible an integrated and efficient heel retention system inside the structure, without the need for external elements. This allows the same efficiency, with reduced weight.
