Orbea Wild LT H-Team (2027)

The Wild LT H-Team is the top aluminium build in Orbea's 170mm enduro e-bike range. The reason to look at it is what Orbea did not downgrade.

The fork is a Fox 38 Float Factory with the GRIP X2 damper and Kashima coating. The shock is a Fox Float X2 Factory Kashima, trunnion mount, 205x65mm, with a custom tune Orbea specifies for this frame. That is the same suspension package fitted to the carbon M10 and to the M-Team RS. It is not a Performance or Performance Elite version of it.

The rest follows.

The wheels are OQUO Mountain Control MC32 TeamPower. The brakes are the latest Shimano XT four-piston with 200mm Galfer rotors front and rear. The drive system is the full Avinox unit with an 800Wh battery.

The alloy hydro frame runs the same Concentric Boost suspension layout and the same geometry as the carbon frames. The kinematics and the fit are unchanged.

What you give up against a carbon Wild LT is frame material, and the weight that comes with it. What you do not give up is how the bike is damped, how it stops, or how far it goes.

Frame, geometry and travel

The frame is Orbea's premium aluminium, with 170mm of rear travel matched to the 170mm fork and a Concentric Boost 12x148 rear end.

Concentric Boost places the main pivot concentric with the drive. That keeps the suspension behaving consistently while the motor is putting power down, and while you are braking hard into a corner.

Geometry is identical between the alloy and carbon frames.

A flip-chip gives two settings, moving the bottom bracket height by 8mm and the head angle by half a degree. Set it steeper and higher for pedalling laps, or slacker and lower for a bike park day. No parts need changing.

In the low setting a size Large runs roughly a 63.3 degree head angle, a 480mm reach and 448mm chainstays. Those are enduro race numbers.

Sizes are S, M, L and XL, in 29in or mullet wheel configurations.

The frame takes a dropper up to 240mm on the larger sizes. That is worth knowing if you are tall and have been running out of seatpost drop on other bikes.

Avinox drive system and 800Wh battery

The H-Team runs the DJI Avinox M2S drive unit with an 800Wh battery, the BC100 controller and the DP100 display. Aluminium Wild LT builds come with the 800Wh battery as standard. The carbon frames can be specified with a 600Wh pack through Orbea's MyO program to save weight.

The M2S delivers 130Nm of torque in its standard modes, rising to 150Nm at peak. On a steep Victorian fire road, that means the bike holds a gear and a cadence where an 85Nm system makes you drop two gears and grind.

Power is where this system is unusual, and it is widely misunderstood. The standard ride modes deliver up to 750W. The full 1300W is not locked away behind a hidden switch, and it is not a paid upgrade. You reach it by building your own ride mode.

The Avinox app lets you create custom modes alongside the standard ones. You name the mode whatever you like, set its parameters, and it appears on the display next to the others. Build one at full power, call it what you want, and 1300W is a mode you select like any other.

That is worth knowing before you buy, because it changes how you think about the bike. You are not choosing between three fixed settings. You are tuning the delivery to suit your riding, then switching to it mid-ride.

The DP100 display and BC100 controller give you mode selection, range estimation and firmware updates through the Avinox app. The system also adapts assistance to your effort rather than delivering a fixed percentage. That is the behaviour most riders notice first coming off an older drive unit.

Shimano XT, mechanical, front to back

The drivetrain is Shimano XT M8200 12-speed, mechanical. It runs a 10 to 51 tooth cassette and an e*thirteen e-spec crankset with a 34 tooth direct-mount ring. On an e-bike the 10-51 spread is less about the climbing gear, which the motor handles. It is more about usable cadence at speed, when you are riding above the assistance cutoff.

Mechanical is worth calling out rather than glossing over. A cable-actuated derailleur has nothing to charge, nothing to pair and nothing to fail in software. On a bike that already depends on a battery and an app for its drive system, keeping the shifting independent of all that has an argument in its favour. It is also cheaper and faster to fix in the middle of a ride. If wireless shifting is what you want, the carbon M10 is the build to look at.

Brakes are Shimano XT four-piston with 200mm Galfer rotors front and rear. Two things matter there. Four pistons on a bike weighing over 20kg is not a luxury: it is the minimum for repeatable braking on a long descent. And the 200mm rear rotor is the part cheaper builds cut first. Equal 200mm rotors front and rear is what you fit when the bike is expected to do laps.

Wheels and tyres tell you what this bike is for

The wheels are OQUO Mountain Control MC32 TeamPower. OQUO is Orbea's own wheel brand, and TeamPower is its e-bike rated build.

The tyres are the detail worth reading closely.

Front is a Maxxis Assegai 2.5in in 3C MaxxGrip with an EXO+ casing. Rear is a Maxxis Minion 2.4in in 3C MaxxTerra with a Double Down casing. MaxxGrip is Maxxis's softest, grippiest and fastest-wearing compound. Double Down is a two-ply casing built for enduro racing.

That combination is a deliberate statement.

It is heavy and slow-rolling, and it is chosen because the bike is expected to be ridden fast on rough ground where a lighter casing would tear. If you are buying this bike for long mellow rides, the rear tyre is the first thing to change. We will say so rather than let you find out.

Finishing kit is Orbea's own OC Mountain Control: an MC22 dropper post, an 800mm MC20 alloy bar with 35mm rise, and a zero-degree MC21 stem.

H-Team or M20: carbon frame, or better parts

The H-Team and the carbon M20 sit within a few hundred dollars of each other. That makes this the real decision in the Wild LT range, and one of the more interesting choices in enduro e-bikes right now. It is not a question of budget. It is a question of where you want the money to go.

The two bikes are identical in the ways that define the platform.

Same 170mm of travel front and rear, same geometry, same Concentric Boost layout, same Avinox M2S drive unit, same 800Wh battery, same Maxxis tyres. Nothing separates them on how far they go, how they fit, or how much grip they have.

Everything else splits cleanly.

The M20 gives you the OMR carbon frame. Carbon is lighter, and it lets Orbea tune frame compliance in ways aluminium does not. Some riders feel that and some do not.

But, the H-Team gives you the parts.

A Fox 38 Float Factory with the GRIP X2 damper instead of a RockShox ZEB Base. A Fox Float X2 Factory Kashima instead of a Float X Performance. Shimano XT instead of Deore. XT four-piston brakes with 200mm Galfer rotors instead of Shimano MT420. OQUO MC32 TeamPower wheels instead of Race Face AR 30c.

Our honest read:

On a 170mm enduro bike weighing well over 20kg, the damper does more for how the bike rides than the frame material does. A Base-level fork on carbon will still spike on repeated hits where a GRIP X2 stays composed. You feel that on every descent. The frame you barely feel by comparison.

There is also a cost argument. Upgrading a fork, shock, brakes and wheels later costs considerably more than the difference between these two bikes. You end up with parts you paid for twice.

The case for the M20 is real. Take it if weight is your priority, if you pedal long distances to your descents rather than shuttling, or if you would rather own a carbon frame and upgrade components gradually as things wear out.

The short version:

The M20 is the better frame, the H-Team is the better bike.

Where the M10 fits

The carbon M10 is a step up in price from both, and it is the build that stops making you choose.

It pairs the premium OMR carbon frame with the same Fox Factory Kashima suspension the H-Team runs. It adds XT Di2 wireless shifting where the H-Team is mechanical, a higher brake specification, and the option of a lighter 600Wh battery through MyO. If the H-Team versus M20 decision feels like a compromise either way, the M10 is what resolves it.

How much does the Orbea Wild LT H-Team weigh?

Around 24.5kg with the 800Wh battery fitted, depending on size and configuration.

The alloy Hydro frame is slightly heavier than the carbon OMR frame used on the M-series builds, and the enduro tyre casings add weight of their own. The Wild LT is a 170mm enduro e-bike, not a lightweight assist bike, unlike the Orbea Rise.

Is the H-Team the same as the carbon Wild LT builds?

The frame material differs.

The geometry, the 170mm of travel front and rear, the Concentric Boost suspension layout, the Avinox drive unit and the 800Wh battery are all shared.

On a 170mm enduro e-bike the suspension affects how the bike rides more than the frame material does.

Upgrading those parts later also costs more than the difference between the two bikes.

Choose the M20 if weight is your priority, or if you plan to upgrade components gradually.

What is the difference between the H-Team and the H20?

The motor is the first difference, and it is the one most people miss.

The H-Team runs the Avinox M2S at 130Nm, rising to 150Nm at peak.

The H20 runs the standard Avinox M2, at 110Nm and 125Nm peak. They are not the same drive unit, even though both are called Avinox and both carry the same 800Wh battery.

The two bikes share the premium alloy frame, the geometry, the 170mm of travel, that 800Wh battery, and Galfer 200mm rotors front and rear.

The suspension is the biggest gap after the motor.

The H-Team gets a Fox 38 Float Factory with the GRIP X2 damper and a Fox Float X2 Factory Kashima shock. The H20 gets a RockShox ZEB Select Rush RC and a Fox Float X Performance. Both are capable, but the Factory-level damping on the H-Team is a tier above.

From there the H-Team runs a Shimano XT drivetrain against the H20's Deore, XT four-piston brakes against Shimano MT420, and OQUO MC32 TeamPower wheels against Race Face AR 30c.

The tyres differ in a way the spec sheet hides.

Both list a Maxxis Assegai front and a Minion rear.

The H-Team's front is a 3C MaxxGrip in an EXO+ casing, which is the softest, grippiest rubber Maxxis makes. The H20's front is a harder EXO TR. The rear Minion is the same Double Down casing on both.

How do you get the full 1300W out of the Avinox M2S?

You create a custom ride mode in the Avinox app. The standard modes deliver up to 750W.

The app lets you build your own modes alongside them, name them whatever you like, and set the parameters, including full power.

Your custom mode then appears on the display and you select it like any other. It is not an override, a hidden unlock or a paid upgrade.

Treat 1300W as a peak for steep or technical sections rather than a setting to ride in all day, because it drains the 800Wh battery much faster.

Can I get the Wild LT H-Team in a mullet setup?
