Who is the Altitude Carbon 70 for?

The Altitude is an Enduro mountain bike.

As such it's for riders who are comfortable going fast over steep, raw and technical trails. And those who are building up to or confident with big features such as jumps and drop-offs.

Perhaps you're currently riding an older shorter travel bike (like a Trail bike) and you're pushing it to the limit. The suspension is working harder, brakes overheat and the bike feels creaky.

Or:

You might be spending most of your time on gentler trails with trips to the high country.

Your preference is an efficient Enduro bike that can handle your regular trails but is also capable of riding steeper trails when it's time.

Premium Smoothwall™ Carbon Frame

Rocky Mountain’s Smoothwall™ carbon is one of the best in the industry.

It's called Smoothwall because it has no imperfections on the inside of the frame such as excess resin or bubbles. It's completely smooth on the inside walls of the frame.

Anyone can produce a carbon frame that looks nice on the outside. But few can do the same for the inside.

Rocky's carbon is designed for high stiffness, impact strength and responsive handling.
Each pivot location uses fully sealed bearings. More importantly the bearing sizes are a common size and easy to source.

The Enduro Max bearings ensure long-term durability. While tube-in-tube internal cable routing makes maintenance at home so much easier.

Ride-9 Adjustable Geometry

The adjustable RIDE-9™ geometry system allows riders to fine-tune handling characteristics.
Ride-9 lets you choose between a more playful setup or a stable, aggressive descending position.

There's 9 different positions for the frame. Each position gives you a certain feel.

For example:

Position 1 transforms the Altitude C70 into full downhill mode. In this position, the Altitude is in its lowest and longest position.

This makes the Altitude extremely stable.

Position 9 is at the other end.

It lifts the bike higher and rotates it forward. This makes all the angles 'steeper'. And steeper angles (such as the head tube/steering angle) makes the Altitude more responsive at a low speeds (like climbing).

Position 5 is Neutral.

It's the mid-point between being super stable and responsive. And it's the position the C70 comes in when you buy it.

Fox Performance Elite

Premium Fox suspension keeps the Altitude C70 composed over rough trails..

The Fox 38 Performance Elite fork delivers 170mm of travel. And it's paired to a heavy-duty Fox Float X2 Performance shock.

Both are highly tunable, don't overheat and deliver excellent small-bump sensitivity (or grip). Together, they absorb heavy impacts while maintaining grip through raw, technical trails.

The reason why both are so tuneable, is that they have numerous adjustments.

First is air pressure - critical for controlling suspension Sag.

Next, you have High and Low Speed Compression. And High and Low Speed Rebound.

The 2 compression adjustments control our soft/hard the suspension feels going into the impact. The 2 rebound adjustments dial-in how fast/slow the suspension returns from these impacts.
