Spank Oozy 220 Saddle

The Spank Oozy 220 is a mountain bike saddle for trail riding.

It has a 144mm-wide, 265mm-long anatomic shape with a relief channel down the middle, a kicked-up tail to push against on steep climbs, and reinforced edges for the knocks a trail saddle takes. It weighs around 280g on hollow chromoly rails.

Shaped for climbing and descending

Trail riding puts you in two very different positions. On climbs you sit forward and push back against the saddle. On descents you drop the saddle and move around it. The Oozy 220 is shaped for both:

• Kicked-up tail: the rear of the saddle rises, giving you something to brace against on steep climbs so you can keep pushing without sliding back. Spank says it also adds lower-back support.
  
• Relief channel: a pronounced channel down the centre takes pressure off soft tissue on long, seated climbs.
  
• Shaped edges: the sides are designed to flex where your legs brush past them, so the saddle doesn't catch your shorts when you move around on descents.

Built for trail knocks

Trail saddles get scuffed against rocks, trees and the ground when the bike goes down.

Spank reinforces the impact zones on the Oozy 220, where a saddle usually takes the hit. The base is a fibre-reinforced polymer shell, and the foam is co-moulded to it, so the padding and the base are bonded as one piece rather than glued.

At 144mm, the Oozy 220 is a mid-width saddle.

The width that suits you depends on the distance between your sit bones, not your clothing size.
