Vittoria Air-Liner MTB
Air-Liner is a foam-based tubular insert for tubeless tyres designed to protect the rim, enhance grip and minimise punctures.
Air-Liner is developed by Vittoria in collaboration with Deaneasy and it's made in Italy.
- Significantly more grip on unstable surfaces.
- Better rim protection because the insert will absorb a lot of the energy before the rim does.
- Allows for lower tyre pressures enhancing grip.
- Prevents burping effect and bead breaking; something that can happen under heavier riders and bikes or hard cornering.
- Increases comfort by absorbs high-frequency vibrations.
- Allows for tyres with a lighter casing and sidewall because tyre stability is improved.
- Sizes: S: 1.90" - 2.20" | M: 2.25" - 2.50" | L: 2.50" - 2.70" | XL: 2.70" - 4.00"
Construction
This technical foam is made up by a new-generation polymer and the entire tube comes through coring process.
Differently from printing and extrusion (cheaper production processes), coring does not alter the chemical structure of the polymer.
Although Air-Liner polymer is slightly dense, it is very resistant.
This particular structure provides the insert with lightweight without compromising on resistance and duration.
Air-Liner can be used on with both tubeless and tubeless-ready tyres and with any type of sealant but preferably without ammonia.
Benefits
The round cross-section shape mimics the natural shape of the tyre, and supports a greater contact area within the sidewalls of the tyre casing.
Side-to-side tyre stability is increased, yet the tread remains soft and grippy.
This improves cornering, climbing, and braking performance.
Air-Liner weight goes from 160g to 220g according to the size and the product life cycle is 2,000 hours in normal conditions or 1 hour run-flat (calculation based on a rider of 80 kg of weight).
Air Liners are sold individually.
