The XDS CX280 is an extremely versatile and comfortable city bike. It’s the bike that will suit you when you want the utmost comfort and want to be able to ride in a variety of conditions.

WHAT AND WHO IS IT FOR?

This bike was built for riders that do not want to “throw their leg over the top bar”, but simply step through the frame, sit on the saddle and commence riding. It’s a bike you should consider if you’ve got flexibility issues or simply want the convenience of a low step through design.

Because of the upright seating position, the steering is extremely stable and handling will be easy. It will deliver loads of confidence to those who are not regular or natural riders.

The Cx280 is the lightest comfort hybrid in the range and will make lifting it into a car, or up some steps super easy. It is quite usable on rough rail trails, mild off road and the usual sealed bike paths. You can take it over a wide variety of terrain, because of the stable steering, and wider tyres.

THE FRAME AND COMPONENTS

XDS have used X6 material. It is a lightweight aluminium, ideal for building strong, light frames.The low step through design ensures very easy mounting and dismounting.

Another key feature is the tall front end. This ensures your hands are placed higher; minimizing hand numbness and delivering better posture. The head stem is a new design, we haven’t seen before. It makes adjusting the riding position incredible easy, and it can be done without tools, while out on a ride.

The CX280 has 27 gears (3x7-speed), and it has a quality gear system, which makes gear changing very easy. The gear changes are precise, and easily done. The gear range is easily sufficient for those who are not at peak fitness to get up steeper inclines easily.

And they change via a trigger shifter. Using your thumb and forefinger, trigger shifters allow you to quickly, accurately and easily change into the gear that you prefer.

38mm wide tyres are neither at the skinny or wide end. These tyres have been chosen so that you can ride on a variety of surfaces. More importantly, the extra air volume inside these tyres will deliver a smoother ride.

There are 3 sizes to choose from too; Small (148cm to 158cm), Medium (155 to 167cm) and Large (167cm+).
