Why choose a Giant road bike?
Giant road bikes are recognised for their innovative designs, exceptional value and premium road handling across all road cycling categories - Endurance, Race and Aero.
Our collection of Giant road bikes includes the:
- Super comfy Giant Defy
- Aerodynamic Giant Propel
- Race-ready all-rounder Giant TCR
- Giant Contend AR; perfect for new riders.
Riders, note that one platform isn't better than the other. Each bike has a specific purpose. There are build options within each that offer various price points.

Giant Defy
In the Giant road bikes stable, the Defy is focussed on delivering comfort, calm and stable handling.
All Defy models use a carbon frame. The higher-level builds get carbon wheels, handlebars and electronic gears (or a combination of).
The Defy places riders in a relaxed riding position.
The tall front-end, raises hand position. This creates a straighter back and open-hips.
Flex zones are engineered into key parts of the frame, wide tyres (up to 38mm) and components (such as the handlebars and seat post).
Meaning:
The Giant Defy absorbs more road vibrations and impacts - and not your body - delaying the onset of fatigue.
There are 3 tiers of Defy models:
- Giant Defy Advanced (enthusiast)
- Giant Defy Advanced Pro (semi-serious enthusiast)
- Giant Defy Advanced SL (serious enthusiast)

Giant TCR
The TCR is fast - everywhere.
So it's a bit of a generalist. If we were to pinpoint its speciality though, it's climbing and semi-serious racing.
It's designed for riders with (at least) some experience.
Perhaps you're upgrading from an Endurance road bike or older race bike.
Whichever it may be, these are the reasons you'd choose the TCR out of all Giant road bikes:
- Sharp low and high-speed responsive handling.
- Shorter wheelbase for better climbing efficiency.
- Super agile and nimble road feel for moving fast in a pack or navigating technical turns.
There are 3 tiers of TCR:
- TCR Advanced
- TCR Advanced Pro
- TCR Advanced SL

Giant Propel
Speed and Aerodynamics.
Engineered for maximum speed, the Giant Propel features cutting-edge aerodynamics and advanced carbon construction.
Its AeroSystem Shaping Technology reduces drag, making it the go-to choice for riders who want to dominate flat terrain and high-speed races.
Because at high-speeds is where the Propel's aero profiles "activate" and reduce air drag.
There are 2 Propel tiers:
- Propel Advanced Pro
- Propel Advanced SL

Giant Contend AR
Think of the Giant Contend as the aluminium version of the Defy.
It has that same calm handling and stable road feel but in a more affordable package that will suit new or returning riders.
All Giant Contend road bikes have the same aluminium frame. It's the parts that contribute to different price options.
There are 4 Giant Contend models:
The AR 1 is the best in the range.
