From smooth pavement to bumpy backroads, our ultra-capable Contend AR road bike has built-in comfort and high-volume tyres, so you can ride any road with confidence and control.

The Contend AR’s frame is specifically engineered to produce a balanced, all-rounder feel that blends confident and relaxed rider positioning with agile cornering and acceleration. It’s perfect for riders who have never ridden a road bike, or those riders looking for a road bike that’s comfortable with stable-handling (as opposed to a race bike).

Our innovative D-Fuse seat post reduces road shocks and vibrations, and a Giant wheelset lets you run tubeless tyres up to 38mm for a smoother ride quality and reduced risk of flats.

Seamless disc brake integration, including flat mounts and 12mm front and rear thru-axles, produces more consistent braking power for better control, even in wet weather and on rough roads.

Lastly, we’ve paired the 2025 Contend AR 1 with Shimano’s latest 105 12-speed gearing system and hydraulic disc brakes. 105 is the newest affordable performance-level component family designed specifically for road bikes.
