Silca Graphene Spray Wax

Silca Ultimate Graphene Spray Wax is a spray-on protective wax for bike frames.

It leaves a thin, slick layer over your paint, so mud, dust and road grime rinse off more easily and the finish resists the fine scuffs and swirl marks that build up with regular cleaning. It is step three of Silca's Bicycle Spa cleaning system.

What graphene adds

Graphene is a form of carbon arranged in a single layer of atoms.

It is extremely strong and very thin. In this wax it creates a nano-scale protective layer on top of your paint. Silca rates the finish as twice as hard as a ceramic coating and says the protection lasts up to 90 days.

The practical benefit is a slicker surface. Dirt has less to grip, so your next wash is quicker and you scrub less. Less scrubbing means fewer fine scratches in the clear coat over time.

It protects against small scuffs and swirl marks. It will not stop stone chips, deep scratches or dents. For high-wear areas like the underside of the down tube, a frame protection film is the better choice.

How to use Silca Graphene Spray Wax

1. Start with a clean, dry bike. Wax applied over dirt locks the dirt in. If a tubeless puncture has left sealant on the frame, clear it first with Silca Ultimate Sealant Remover.
2. Spray onto a microfibre towel or buffing pad, not directly onto the bike.
3. Wipe onto painted surfaces a section at a time.

4. Buff to a shine with a clean, dry side of the towel.

Keep the wax away from disc rotors, brake pads and rim braking surfaces. Wax on a braking surface cuts braking power. If you do get some on a rotor, clean it off with a brake cleaner before you ride.

Matte paint: Silca notes the wax may slightly change the sheen of a matte finish. Test it on a small, hidden area first, such as the inside of a chainstay.
