About the Range

Our range of GT mountain bikes includes the following models:

  • Stomper Kids
  • Aggressor
  • Avalanche
  • Zaskar
  • Sensor

GT Aggressor

The Aggressor is a recreational mountain bike.

It's designed for suburban bike paths, rail trails plus light dirt and gravel trail.

It's a great bike for general fitness and riding with mates.

There's also 3 levels of Aggressor mountain bikes to choose from:

The Pro is perfect for pre-teens and teenagers transitioning off small kids bikes.

Another option to place on your shortlist (we're all about range at Ivanhoe Cycles) is the Haro Flightline Two.

The Aggressor Sport gets a frame and suspension upgrade over the Pro. But the Pro has slightly better gears (8 speed vs. 7); that's the reason for slightly higher RRP.

The Aggressor Expert gets the following upgrades over the Sport:

  • 8 speed gears
  • Hydraulic disc brakes

GT Avalanche

The Avalanche is GT's mid-upper range recreational mountain bike.

These bikes have more of a proper off-road feel to them.

So if you're wanting to attempt easy mountain bike trails, or most of your riding is on unsealed roads

Riders get 3 Avalanche options:

The Avalanche Sport is that cross-over option, where it'll happily tackle easy trails and suburbia.

The Avalanche Comp and Elite are designed for more off-roading.

  • They have more suspension to handle slightly bigger impacts.
  • And they have a single front gear paired to a massive range of back gears - perfect for mountain trails.

GT Zaskar

The Zaskar takes the mountain bike concept to another level.

Zaskar bikes use lighter frames and more robust parts.

These bikes will see a lot of their time off-road, so the parts need to be appropriate.

If you're open to it though, another option to place on your list is the latest Giant Fathom.

Modern geometry delivers a very stable and calm off-road handling.

GT Sensor

GT's new Sensor is a dual-suspension trail bike.

Similar to the Giant Trance or Rocky Mountain Instinct, the Sensor is a jack-of-all-trades.

As a trail bike, it's ideal for riders who are either:

  • New to the mountain biking and want to start off on a bike that's calm and easy to ride.
  • Or, you're already riding a hardtail (front-suspension only) mountain bike and pushing it to it's limit.

GT Stomper Kids

The Stomper Kids range is available in 2 wheel sizes:

  • 20-inch wheel for riders at least 6 years old.
  • 24-inch wheel for riders at least 8 years old.
